Let downs and the winner/loser of the week

Well, it’s time to figure out who my  two biggest let downs of the week are, so let’s get to it.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS VS. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

I know the Patriots won; but god, this game was terrible. Tom Brady started off the show with two interceptions, that led to a 10-0 lead for the Jags. It wasn’t until the third quarter that the Patriots got into their groove. Tom Brady only threw two touchdown passes all game.

The Patriots are headed to the playoffs no matter what happens, but it is sad when the Seahawks can score 42 points over the rock hard defense of the 49’ers, and yet the legendary Patriots can only muster 23 points over won of the worst teams in the NFL. If the Patriots want to go to the Super Bowl like last year, and correct their loss against the Giants, they are going to have to step it up.

SAN FRANCISCO 49’ERS VS. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Man-o-man, I loved this game. But, the fact of the matter is, the 49’ers could of done so much more. Russel Wilson of the Seahawks had a great night, with four touchdown passes, moved to second place in the league for TD’s among rookies. Kaepernick only had one touchdown pass. This is almost the same situation as the Patriots; the only difference in this game was, the Seahawks are a great team, and there is no shame in losing to them. Ironically, Sunday was Jim Harbaugh’s birthday.

The Seahawks have now clinched their well deserved playoff spot. I can’t wait to see what else the Seahawks can do before the offseason.

On a side note, my player of the week is Russel Wilson of the Seahawks, with 15 complete passes out of 21 attempts, 171 yards, and four touchdowns in a great win against the 49’ers.

The loser of the week goes to Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings. Coming off an ACL tear, people didn’t really expect him to be a great player this year, but he proved them wrong. Sunday, he could of easily broken the 2,000 yards rushing record, but instead ran for a mere 84 yards. That isn’t what a player on the verge of setting a record does. Ask Calvin Johnson.
