Bears playoffs chances slimmer every week, Packers not getting a new kicker

Jay Cutler and the Bears are a great team. Starting the season 7-1, it seemed as though they were going to be in the playoffs without a doubt; but, here we are at the end of week 15, and the chances of the Bears making a playoff run are looking pretty low. Now 8-6, the Bears will have to win the rest of their games, and hope that a few good teams, like Dallas, Seattle, Minnesota, and New York (Giants) lose their games to keep their wild card chances alive.

In Sunday’s game, Aaron Rodgers connected to James Jones for three touchdowns, two of which came at the close of the second quarter thanks to a Cutler pick by Casey Hayward. Cutler was sacked twice by Clay Matthews, who now has eight sacks on the Bears Quarterback. The Bears have now lost five of the last six games, But facing the Cardinals next week, and the Lions in week seventeen, I believe they may be able to stay in the race for the wild card.

Packers head coach, Mike McCarthey says, “We’re not changing kickers. Write that down now.”

I honestly thought the Packers would be getting a new kicker after their game against the Lions, then Crosby missed two more in the game against the Bears, but McCarthy has reassured everyone that Crosby isn’t going anywhere.

Here is what I think:

The Packers have a good chance of being NFC champions, even if Crosby continues to miss field goals, but in a high caliber game like the Super Bowl, field goals are what wins, because both defenses will be playing at their very best. If the packers want to be Super Bowl champions again, they should at least consider the possibility of a new kicker.
